Mirror work — abhla — is Gujarat's own, and it behaves differently from every other trim in this catalogue because the mirrors are rigid. A mirrored border will not ease around a tight curve, and it will not press flat. Used along a straight hem, a yoke or a sleeve band, it does something no printed or woven trim can imitate.
Check the setting before you buy in quantity: the stitch that holds each mirror is what fails first on cheap work. Order a piece and pull gently at one mirror. Ours are meant to survive being worn, not just being photographed.
