How do I compare two designs in this range?

By their specifications rather than their photographs: technique, width, put-up and how many colourways exist, listed the same way on each. Where we do not hold a figure it is left out rather than guessed at.

Banarasi saree borders

Order by

A saree border has to do two things at once: carry enough weight to hang straight along a six-yard hem, and stop at a width that does not swallow the drape. Get the second wrong and the saree wears the border rather than the other way round. The range here sits in the widths that have actually worked for the tailors who buy them.

Buy the full run in one order where you can. Metallic borders are dyed and woven in batches, and two batches of the same design bought months apart can differ slightly in tone — enough to see where they meet on a hem. There is no minimum: one piece is an order.
